How can I buy or renew a membership?
Memberships can be purchased online, at the Visitor Services desk in the Museum lobby, in The Store at MAD, or by calling the Membership Office at 212.299.7721, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:30 am and 5:30 pm.
Is a MAD Membership tax-deductible?
Tax deductibility varies based on membership level. Below are the tax-deductible amounts for each level:
- Individual: Fully tax-deductible
- Dual: Fully tax-deductible
- Studio: $200
- Gallery: $450
- Patron: $1300
- Sustainer: $2250
- Benefactor: $4600
I just joined MAD. What happens next?
If you recently joined or renewed an existing membership, you will receive an acknowledgment letter and a MAD Membership card in the mail within three weeks. Studio and Gallery Members receive a membership card with a special sticker allowing reciprocal admission benefits at 650 museums nationwide.
I just purchased my membership online/over the phone. How can I get into the Museum before my cards arrive?
After you purchase a membership online or over the phone, you will receive an email confirmation. Check in at the Visitor Services desk in the Museum lobby with your confirmation or valid photo I.D. and pick up a temporary day pass.
For how long is my membership valid?
All memberships are valid for one year from the end of the month in which you joined. For example, if you joined in May, your membership would not expire until May 31 of the following year.
I lost my membership card. How can I get a replacement card?
To request a new card, call the Membership Office at 212.299.7721, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:30 am and 5:30 pm, or email members@madmuseum.org.
How do I update my contact information?

Can the cost of Museum admission be applied toward a membership?
Yes, the cost of your admission may be applied toward a membership purchase on the same day. A Visitor Engagement staff member will be happy to help you.
How can I upgrade my membership?
You can upgrade your membership at any time during your annual membership cycle. Just call the Membership Office at 212.299.7721, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:30 am and 5:30 pm.
